the Luna Park . . .

in Heliopolis, (Egypt) opened in 1911 and was the first amusement park in that part of the world.  During WW1 it was used as a hospital, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luna_Park,_Cairo.

This postcard is undated and unused so hard to date, but the history would suggest it dates from about 1912.

  1. I am fascinated by old amusement parks. Equally fascinating is the Heliopolis name! I would love to hear sometime about your living in Egypt.
