the excursion

An orphaned snapshot, I think from the 1930s.  So I have no idea of the reason for their excursion nor their destination.  Having looked at this very closely, there is a pub called the Lord Nelson at the end of the buildings on the right (towards the centre), fairly central is the building with the fancy gable, which may be a meeting house of some kind or a market hall.  There are a couple of adverts, one for Reid's Stout and another for Wall's Ice Cream, none of which give the location away.

  1. Perhaps they are from the Temperance Society, and are about to descend upon Lord Nelson's and smash up kegs of Reid's stout. Then go celebrate with Wall's Ice Cream. ;-)
