Après une absence cruelle,
Je te retrouve encore plus belle.
and the French is written in Esperanto on the reverse of the postcard.

  2. Does this fill the stereotype of the Frenchman? And do you think this postcard had been sitting around for a few years before it was mailed? The hairstyles seem to be from a decade or so earlier.

  3. I'm thinking this series was produced for WW2 sales but the styles depcited are those of a slightly earlier time, they remind me a bit of the movies of the 1920s and '30s. However having said that, coming soon in the album is a postcard which I would definitely say is WW1 era which is used much later.

  4. Esperanto...wow! I can't help but focus on a small detail: her hand. She's not quite embracing him. In fact it looks as if she's avoiding it. And her nail polish seems to be chipped.
