'Midan Opera' ~ Opera Square

Following on from yesterday's pc's of the old Opera House in Cairo, here are two more pc's.   The above shows the Opera House (built 1869, burned down 1971) in the background and the statue of Ibrahim Pasha, the eldest son of Muhammad Ali, who had a successful military career in the Egyptian army. (Wiki link).

The second postcard again shows Opera Square but from a different perspective.

  1. I didn't expect to see these kind of buildings in Cairo. I wonder if the city will ever become suited for tourists again.

    1. Cairo has some beautiful architecture.
      I hope so :)
