a 1920s (or maybe just into the 1930s) wedding.


  1. I've never seen a horseshoe at a wedding before. Knowing one in three weddings fail they need all the luck they can get.

    1. Giving the bride a horseshoe for good luck is a tradition here, though I don't know if people still do it today. I wrapped a real horseshoe in silver foil for a bride in the late 1970s, and I have wedding photos from the 1920s onwards which show brides with horseshoes.
      Another tradition is for the bride to have a rolling pin, I don't know the reason for that tradition nor what she is supposed to do with it! :) :)
