Ilfracombe - Pleasure Grounds and Concert Hall

Postcard unused, but probably 1930s.
The new concert hall and Victoria Pleasure Grounds were built in the 1920s.
The website 'Britain from Above' has several aerial views of Ilfracombe, this one from 1932, has the Pleasure Ground just visible in the top right corner (but mainly off the picture) - oh well it gives the Pleasure Ground a wider context.  It looks like just a short walk from the Ilfracombe Hotel.

  2. 'Ilfracombe' sounds like a Welsh name (I now know it isn't, although it's closeby).

  3. Fabulous old image. I remember when things used to have that slightly faded colour!
