Sunday stamps

Some flowers for this week's theme, I think it might be cherry blossom on the 1960 USA stamp.

I'm participating in Viridian's Sunday Stamps, clicking the icon below will take you there.
Thanks for visiting.

  1. I had to look up what this one was commemorating - apparently the anniversary of the first treaty to promote mutual understanding and good will. The cherry blossoms Apart from the Washington Monument, cherry blossoms are also iconic to DC.

  2. Now I have to establish the significance of the 1860/1960 dates for the USA and Japan.

  3. What a pretty blossom design. I thought at first it must be the Washington cherry blossom (which I have seen in blog posts in the past) but the date must have some other significance.

  4. That is a nice stamp that I don't remember seeing before. I saw on the news a couple of days ago that repairs to the Washington monument have been completed. It suffered major damage a few years ago from an earthquake.
