Sunday stamps

For this week's free theme, I'm posting this block of 4 stamps of President Eisenhower.  They have a 'First Day of Issue' cancellation, date of issue 14 October 1969.  Looking on wiki, Eisenhower was born 14 October 1890 and died 28 March 1969.

I'm participating in Viridian's Sunday Stamps - clicking the icon below will take you there.
Thanks for visiting.

  1. There is no mistaking Ike even if his name had been missed off.

  5. I hadn't realised he'd died in 1969. It doesn't seem so long ago.

  6. I like the choice of portrait, it gives the impression the US held him in great affection. Indeed he was one of the great figures of the 20th Century.
