Sunday stamps

Nefertiti, issued by Egypt in 1959 ( the United Arab Republic was the political union between Egypt and Syria from 1958 - 1961, though Egypt continued to use the 'name' 'United Arab Republic' until 1971, wiki link).

Nefertiti stamps are some of my favourites.

I'm participating in Viridian's Sunday Stamps, clicking the icon below will take you there.
Thanks for visiting.

  2. Although I've seen quite a few Egyptian UAR stamps I don't think I've ever seen a Syrian one, the short time frame you mention of the original union must be the reason.

  4. Beautiful stamp! That kind of head gear must be hard on the neck.

  6. I've not seen any stamps that say UAR before. Those are some red lips!
